• Big Changes

There have been some big changes around here- not least of which is I no longer work from my Brighton Seafront studio.
After 26 years there, it was a huge decision to make, but ultimately the right one for me.
I'll be posting more here soon, and please feel free to follow my new start on facebook.

In the meantime rest assured I am happy and well, and painting again x

  • Exhibition at The New Steine Hotel

    Linda Boucher, Artist

Exhibition at The New Steine Hotel in New Steine, Brighton (opposite the Brighton Aids Memorial)

    2nd December-19th February
Private View: 1st December at 7pm

Brighton based artist Linda Boucher, uses traditional oil painting techniques to create her contemporary paintings of glamorous women, and their gorgeous belongings.

Best known for her Red Shoe Paintings, you’ll find all kinds of objects of desire, from Disco Balls to Lipsticks- Powder Puffs to Russian Dolls within her still life paintings.

Drawing on her love of vintage movies, and stunning colours Linda also paints wonderful portraits of women. These paintings have a really contemporary feel, blended with fashions and styles from the 1940s & 50s.

Self taught, Linda has been working from her Seafront studio, in Brighton’s Artist Quarter, since 1991. Over the years, Linda has exhibited in several exhibitions, including shows in Brighton, London and Monte Carlo.

Linda has also successfully worked with publishing companies such as American Greetings, The Art Group, and most recently Paperlink.
Linda is thrilled to be exhibiting over the festive season within The New Steine Hotel. New work will be presented at the opening of the show, and more work will be added as the show continues. The show offers the opportunity to see Linda’s work in a new setting, within Brighton’s vibrant Kemptown shopping area.

All work presented is for sale, and will include original oil paintings, alongside prints (framed and unframed), notebooks and 2012 Calendars.
On the evening of the Private View, Linda will be making a donation of 15% from all sales to local charity Lunch Positive (http://www.lunchpositive.org/), who offer a healthy and enjoyable meal for people living with, and affected by, HIV.

For more information, please contact Linda by email: studio@lindaboucher.com , or, by telephone: 01273 779937.

  • New Steine Hotel Exhibition

I thrilled to announce that I'll be exhibiting at The New Steine Hotel, Bar & Bistro over Christmas.
The exhibition formally begins on 2nd December, with a Private View on December 1st.
I'll be showing new work, which of course will include some glamorous women and gorgeous red shoes. There'll be original paintings, prints notebooks and more... so whether you're treating yourself, or looking for Christmas gifts, it's a great opportunity to see some art (without having to brave Brighton Seafront!).
December 1st is International World Aids Day, and so I will be donating 15% of any sales on that day to Lunch Positive, a local charity that offers healthy and delicious meals to people living with, or affected by HIV.
I hope you'll pop along on the 1st to enjoy a glass of wine, and to see my new paintings!

  • TimeOut

I was featured in the TimeOut guide to Brighton!

"Brighton’s shops are as diverse as the city, from edgy art to contemporary design....
.....this shoe-loving artist will paint your favourite heels. Or you can pick one of her Hollywood inspired pink-toned paintings."

    So exciting :)

  • Hand in Glove Moleskine Notebook review

Madam Salami and I got to 'know' one another through twitter- and I was thrilled when she snapped up one of my notebooks (about a second after I'd popped it in the Online Store).

I hadn't anticipated this blog post, though, and I'm really excited to learn that she had enjoyed my art for a long time.

It's always great to receive feedback, and to feel so encouraged by people.

  • A New Look

I've made some changes to my website... you can browse my artwork here, and buy original paintings and fine art prints from my on-line shop

There's also links to my blog, my facebook page, and my twitter.

You can share links to my paintings on all your favourite social networking sites, and email links for them to a friend- the perfect way to let people know what you'd like as a gift.

I really hope you enjoy the new look- let me know if you find something that doesn't seem to work quite right... I made this site myself, and may have missed an obvious mistake.

  • Interview in UK Handmade Magazine

I was thrilled when UK Handmade got in touch, and asked me if they could feature me in their Spring edition of the journal.

I'm never really sure what to say about myself, though, and worry that I sound like a goofball.

You can decide for yourself Here My interview starts on page 16, but the whole magazine is excellent, and really worth a browse.
